Hi

1st of all I would like to thank sub & all the people working on the npvr + xbmc integration. The combination is working nearly perfectly apart from 1 small issue. When I am watching an HD channel (I think it's just HD, haven't noticed it doing it on SD channels) it will be working perfect and then it goes into a buffering fit. If I leave it alone it will eventually catch up with itself and will continue on until the next fit.
The easiest method for me to workaround this issue is to pause live tv for 5 - 10 seconds, it is usually fine for a while or until I change channel.
It's not that frequent, for example I will be watching a football game (soccer) and during the 90+15mins it had 3 buffering fits lasting about a minute each time.
I'm thinking it's the size of the buffer not being quite big enough but unsure where this is controlled
If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Wired gigabit but npvr and xbmc are installed locally on the same machine.

In that case, have you tried playing with the NextPVR client itself?

In XBMC, in the NPVR Add-On, do you have Time Shifting enabled?

I noted this exact thing just this morning on one of my clients and realized I had NOT enabled Timeshift on it. That seems to make all the difference for some reason, even if you don't use it. I watch live 1080 HD all the time now with hardly a hiccup.

Yeah I have that enabled already and it seems to be working fine, I can pause live tv etc..
i updated to the 31st december build and it seems to be a lot better, watching footy in HD at the moment and it's been fine.
Possibly just a small bug in the version I was using.

It's still doing it unfortunately. If I watch the same program in the Npvr client it's perfect so it appears to be an xbmc issue rather than the client.

Did you figure this out? I just installed NextPVR, with RC1 patches I found on the forum, and the XBMC add-on and I've having the same buffering issue. Mine is even with the analogue tuner and SD content. NextPVR and XBMC are on different machines but it's gigabit lan with gigabit Ethernet cards. Where do I start to figure out the issue? Thanks.

Try the latest NShared.dll on the "Recording names" thread in this forum. This helped me.

It seemed better for a bit with the new file but now it's doing it again Sad
