I have a homegroup/workgroup set up at home, running the newa server on one machine. From the host i can access the web interface fine. From other computers on the network I cannot.

I have tried nameofpc:8866 and ipofpc:8866 to no avail. I have also tried various / including guide1, guide2, logon etc. But none of the computers can access the server.

They can ping/tracert the computer and share files no problem.

How can I troubleshoot this? I have the server running on system and have made firewall exceptions for nrecord.exe and npvr.exe in windows (I only use windows firewall).

On my router I have tried to have a fiddle, but as far as I know, I shouldn't have to change anything for internal access.

Also, I run a utorrent webserver from the same computer without a problem.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot why I can't log in from one of the other pc's?

Have you opened port 8866 on the server to incoming traffic?

Stupid me, setting a rule for incoming traffic worked. I tried allowing npvr and nrecord as programs, but all it needed was a traditional open port.

Do I need udp or just tcp btw?

Any idea on this?

Also, for the streaming port. What protocol is that?

TCP
For VLC based streaming the default port is 7648.....this is configurable on the config tab of NEWA.
