Am looking to build a new HTPC - but want to make it a small footprint - so am looking for USB capture cards.

Am looking for Analog captures cards. Specifically to capture through
a) traditional coaxial cable areial
b) RCA
c) S-Video

To further complicare matters I am in Hong Kong - so some of the more traditional brands are no longer available to me.
So I was wondering if anybody had had any success with the following

http://www.avermedia.com/Product/Product...spx?Id=495

I can get AVERMedia products - this looks perfect for me - but not sure if it is support by NPVR. Can anybody provide some directions on this please.

Also - can somebody suggest what models would be good to use for my purposes? The 2 brands that are easy to get are AVERMedia and Magic-Pro.

Thanks Nuro.

hi nurowolf,

I am also in HK. I use an old Hauppauge PVR-150 (PVR-500 is just as good) for the NOWBB Box, which you will unfortunately find difficult to get as they are out of production, and 2xHauppauge DMB-T Ministick HD for Pearl and World which you can still get in SSP. I didn't have much succes with Avermedia products OR Magic-Pro TBH, on the old GBPVR but you may fare better with NPVR for Digital. For Analog though, all I can suggest is you try to find someone wth a PVR-150 if you can.

I don't know if the PVR150 USB2 is still available or not, but I use one for capture from a satellite STB with success.

The PCI versions are easy to find on ebay and mine was a rock back in the day. However I know some of the PVR drivers will not work on x64 with more than 3GB though but 32bit with 4GB (using 3GB) will be okay.
