Please help with setup

I followed the short guide: install nextpvr, scanned channels, enabled web server, patched .dll file. And then installed plugin provided by xbmc frodo. Configured according to settings. I can watch tv on the frontend computer (livingroom), but when I try to watch on xbmc (i link the ip address), I just get a lost connection. I have rechecked and rechecked everything, and even port forwarded 8866. But nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

It depends on how you install patches since most online documentation was meant for the alpha and beta cycles. You should install 2.5.9 and the R2 patches but ignore the older NShared. For Frodo install today's official release, if you are running Windows just tick the pvr.nextpvr option to install the current addon.

Have frodo installed, and can watch/connect with addon on the same computer, but when I try to link in with addon from another computer it says connection lost, or wait for pvr service to be ready. I installed 2.5.9 and then overwrote files with the R2 patches, but am suffering the same problem. Do you have any additional information that I am missing? Thanks

Yes that link is right for the R2 patches, but they are only used by NextPVR not the XBMC client. You could have firewall blocking your configured port on the server and/or client, or you may have mistyped the IP username or password on the client. You need to enter the server IP not client IP and definitely not 127.0.0.1. If you have all that set update the xbmc.log from the client and the web.log from the server. Best to shutdown the local server XBMC, it could end up spamming the logs.

How do update the xbmc.log/where is it (for client)? And the same for the web.log from the server? I don't know locations or how to do this. Thanks
