Hello all and thanks in advance.
I'm trying to setup so I can use with XBMC. I cannot get Schedules Direct to import or detect any of my HD channels. Everything else seems to import correctly (tuners are detected, all other channels are detected). Can somone direct me to a step by step setup or answer why the HD channels aren't being detected? I have Time Warner and using a tuning adapter with cablecard plugged into my HD Prime.

Thanks
Graham

Please do the import or scan that is going haywire and then zip and attach your logs ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post438939

It would be good if you can say the time of the problem 'cos it makes it easier to find stuff in the logs.

Thanks Graham, will do as soon as I get a chance. I'm at the office all day.

Just to let you know, I am a novice to all this which probably complicates things. How do I view the 'logs' ?

Everything runs smooth on WMC but I want more add-ons and playback ability. XBMC seems the fit.

Graham gave you the link to the tech support post that explains (among other things) where to find the logs and how to post them.

While I sincerely appreciate the quick reply and assistance offered for my problem. I have now come to the conclusion that if Npvr is this complicated for me to setup, I don't need it.
WMC detected my HDPrime and fired right up instantly with no issues what-so-ever, and the whole family can watch, and record tv on all devices in the home.

No - Im not the most technical person, but this is too much trouble and very time consuming for me to attempt any further.
Heck, if I do get Npvr running, what if I have an issue down the road? Do I have to 'zip' up logs and review my whole setup every time an issue occurs?

I may attempt again in the future, but for now I'm sticking with what I know works.

Again, I do appreciate the quick replys and offers for assistance. You can delete this post if you feel I'm bashing Npvr, but I'm not. I'm just aggravated that this program would be so much trouble to get setup and running.

Thanks for offering assistance,

Actually it's pretty easy to get setup and running. That's why we needed your logs, to find out why it wasn't being easy for you. You do have to be willing to learn a little though, and it seems like you weren't willing at all.

That said, I think your real problem may be that you want to receive encrypted channels that aren't marked "Copy Freely". Unfortunately ONLY WMC can do that. No other software on the planet is allowed to view, record or playback encrpyted channels which are marked "Copy Once" or "Copy Never".

So, it's probably for the best that you've gone back to WMC.

Thx for this valuable pc of information johnsonx,

And like I said I may try another go at it when I build my other pc,but for now since everything is A-ok on my main htpc I'll leave as is . "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
Ill send logs if I try again ....thank you

While this is mostly true there are two ways I think to get around it, and I'm sure you know better than I do, but for those that don't the 1. Network Sage recorder can use WMC to record programs, and an 2. HDPVR can be set up to record encrypted shows. Please clarify if my understanding is incorrect.

Something else for Robistro to consider...WMC appears to be in a sunset mode meaning there was not any development between windows 7 and windows 8 and they do not even include WMC with the OS. ATM you must pay $9.99 to download the program. With that in mind I would be concerned about future support and updates.

Thanks jakesty,
Lack of Microsoft support for WMC is the main reason for wanting to move to another platform. I currently have the HDPrime Homerun cablecad tuner, I'm thinking maybe i should just ditch cable all together, get the basic HDPrime tuner and setup my htpc this way. My concern is where or what are the best ways to receive my online media and which platform to use thats user friendly for the whole family?

Sorry, now this post is off topic. Maybe it can be relocated. Thx again
