EPG update issues

Hi,

I have an a couple of issues related to EPG:

1. This is maybe only starting from 2.6.2 (not sure): automatic (scheduled) update of the EPG (doesn't matter which time) doesn't work. I empty the EPG data, set the time to one minute from now, and nothing happens then..
2. This happened also on 2.5.9: it seems that shows from the updated EPG are merged with the shows already in the current one. That results in overlapping and duplication of shows (for example when a show's time has been updated), which makes the EPG quite useless at times. I'm sure it doesn't come that way (over DVB-T), because when I reset it and update, the EPG is fine.

Post the logs and I'll take a look.

Make sure 'update DVB EPG during live tv' is unticked on the Settings->Misc screen, then hit Empty EPG followed by Update EPG. After that it should be fine.

Try setting it for five minutes in the future to give you some time, restart the recording service and then put the backend to sleep. I did this a few time testing and it woke up just fine on time.

Don't worry about emptying the guide it will do that for you

It was indeed ticked.. Does it mean I have to stop watching TV for the EPG to be updated? Is that also true for automatic update?
Anyway, I'll keep you posted..

Here you go. I restarted the service, updated the time.
Note that I have a UpdateEPG.bat (which works fine on manual update).

You're right, sorry.. Will pay more attention next time :-)

what does it mean to 'put the backend to sleep'? I'm only familiar with start/stop NPVR service...

I assumed you wanted to test waking up the backend server to ensure that it would do the epg update.

yes but I am not familiar of a way to actively make it sleep.. I just waited. BTW it didn't work even after scheduling to a few hours ahead.
Guess I'll wait for sub's findings...

I had problems updating the EPG using a script on 2.5.9, for some reason it would run the batch file but never complete. I ended up just using task scheduler and that worked fine for me.
