Two possible solutions:
Create a C:\Temp\ folder. Use a different folder for the Live TV buffer. You can select whatever folder you want in the NextPVR settings - To get into settings right-click anywhere in the NextPVR window or on the title bar and click Settings. You will find the option to select the folder used for the Live TV buffer on the Misc section. It's all described in the NextPVR Wiki.

did you install all these things (yes you do need to do it even though your on w8 and its newer)
http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...requisites also try turning off your firwall to test. If that fixes it you need to add npvr to firewall

Sometimes you need to run the installer as Administrator to get it installed properly. "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy"

NPVR includes applications to Start NPVR Service and Stop NPVR Service. I would tell you to find them via Start\All Programs except I hear that Windows 8 has no Start button.
