I've almost got this working but not quite. I'm running Win7 Ultimate and using a SDPrime three tuner card with a cable card. I can get a picture and occasionally sound with Live TV but it's inconsistent and in every case NPVR freezes after one or two channel changes. I had no problem propagating NPVR with the SDPrime channels and they show up on the epg screen although I haven't yet tried to subscribe to a epg source. I did set the Win7 firewall to let NPVR through. I started with the thought of using NPVR with XBMC but NPVR does exactly what I want on my large screen so I'm going to forget XBMC. Any thoughts on what I can do to make this a consistent process?

Under Settings/Decoders, what are you using for AC3 Audio decoder? You might get better results with AC3Filter (http://www.ac3filter.net/). Try Video Renderer: EVR, Audio Renderer: Default, MPEG2 Video: Microsoft DTV/DVD Video Decoder. It's possible that some channels have MPEG1 audio, but unlikely. You could use either Microsoft or AC3Filter decoders for that. After changing Settings, you should restart NPVR Service.

If you need to post again, please zip and attach your logs (C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs).

Thanks so much. I think the AC3 Filter did the job. Now for another question. This setup is on my office computer which is easier for me to work on than my HTPC/HDTV setup. Is there an easy way to move what I've done on this computer to the HTPC? I have a gigabit cat5 network linking the two.

Your "C:\Users\Public\NPVR" contains all your settings (config.xml) and your database (npvr.db3). Provided you have the same filters installed (etc), you can just copy those two files.

I'm now having a problem with the HTPC setup. I installed NPVR, made sure needed additional files were installed, did the firewall changes and copied the two files mentioned above. That gives me a working copy of NPVR, sort of. I am getting live tv, but the quality is poor. I've set the network file folders but NPVR doesn't seem to remember them, reverting back to a local file folder instead of a network one on restart. So, I can't see my video and music files. My Prime tuners work fine in WMC and they are working in NPVR, but not nearly as well. Decoder setting are the same in both the original and Htpc versions. I'm hoping someone has some idea what's happening and can point me in the right direction.

I don't work with forums enough to know how to attach a file to a message. I have the file, I just don't know how to send it to you.

Hello again. When you post, press "Go Advanced" at bottom right. Then you'll see a series of buttons, one of which looks like a paperclip. Is this HTPC running Windows 7? Is it a client of the one in your office?

It's running Win 7 Professional. I don't think it's a client but a different installation but I'm not sure what the difference is.

I looked at the config file and I noticed the music and video folders say their on E:. There is no E on this computer. That refers back to the office pc so the address should be \\x\e:music, etc. Also, I noticed this doesn't come up full screen but in a win frame on the tv room screen. The video is much better that way. When I enlarge to full screen, the jerkiness starts. I obviously can't see the video and music files on the office server but I can seem to get it to accept the proper address.
