Not sure if this is the right place to post this but thought I'd start here as I know the NPVR community is always helpful Smile

I recently bought a Hauppauge HVR 1700 to add to my system (in signature), as I want it to replace the PVR 150 so I can install more than 4GB RAM - due to a known issue with the 150.

However it's resulted in some bizarre behaviour in the PC. Because of the SSD the system normally boots and is free to use in about 30 seconds - now with the HVR 1700 in a PCIE slot it's taking about 3-5 minutes before it's usable. All I've done is plug the board into the slot and it seems to cripple the PC - CPU goes up to 100%.

I've never seen this before so not sure where to start - does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Did you install the driver or WinTV? Maybe it is going through the "found new hardware" ritual with no driver, etc.

Driver is installed... Finally. Took a long time though as PC is very very slow as mentioned.

Now when I boot up the same thing happens... 5-6 minutes before CPU drops to normal levels and its actually usable again. Seems like some kind of hardware conflict maybe?

Anything in particular I should look for? I'm not familiar with using the Event Viewer.

No errors under hardware.

Tried disabling it and restarting and nothing changed - still very very slow.

There is some stuff in the event logs when it seems to be happening - am trying to figure out a way to post it here.

I've now replaced the HVR1200 with the 1700 in the same PCIe slot and it's working on DVB-T. Must have been some sort of conflict with the two in the system? No idea.

Anyway, now I can't get the Analog side of it going... back to the drawing board.
