Screen saver while in music playing modes

I love GBPVR. When guests are over I keep it on while playing music. However I am concerned that I am going to get severe burnin on my TV. I would love a feature that would just display the last xx seconds of a song and the 1st xx seconds of a song to display album art, album name, song name, etc. I think this would be useful for any music mode or even on the front menu if it has been there for a predefined period of time with no activity.
Actually I would be all in favor of it in any mode other than while you are playing a video.

Also, maybe the main portion for the music could have a random float function so that it is not in the same place each time. The actual area of screen that is currently used is relatively small compared to the size of the screen.

As far as I'm concerned GBPVR is top notch professional quality. I believe adding this feature would definitely go along with the professional, ready for prime time feel.

Congrats to Sub for a great job. Everyone that comes over and gets my demo of GBPVR are all quite amazed! I have had at least one convert so far and another on the way.

I would also add that it may just be a nice time to have a photo slide feature that it would just go to your pictures directory and just start playing random pictures. and you could either include or exclude directories from being shown.

Here here, I have written a few threads on the subject and the best I have got to date is with My Music. I love to see Album Art etc but my main fear is screen burn as I have a Plasma.

Reven very kindly added a switch to My Music that turns off the currently playing details to allow the Hauppauge Screen Saver to kick in.

So at the mo it is one or the other and until it can be resolved I prefer to save my screen. I understand Sub is going to add screen saver at some time.

Like you, what I want is, ideally, the album art and track details to be the actual screen saver ie moving about (not wildly of course).

I really like My Music and to be honest playing music (a la Jukebox) is the main reason that I have the MVP. Videos , pics etc are nice but as I say I would be happy with just Music.

I was thinking the other night another alternative could be to dedicate a button on the PVR remote while in the Music programs to toggle blacking out the screen. You could turn the TV on/off I know; although, I feel that is more cycling and harder on the electronics than simply blacking out the screen. I have heard that displaying black for extended periods of timecan cause burnin on some of the LCD/plasma/ or newer displays (can someone confirm this?) Not being a programmer I really don't know what is involved but I was thinking that maybe the black screen with a push of the remote button would be a quicker intermediate fix until the final screen saving schemes are released.

In any case I will anxiously wait for some form of screen saving scheme. I love showing off Subs great work by having GBPVR on continuosly when friends come over. I like the music just as much. I personally like the idea of just displaying the art, album info, etc for 10-15 seconds before the end of the song and 10-15 seconds into the new song. Maybe even with a press of the button you could bring the info up for 10-15 seconds.

I like the idea of the random photos as well! I know my wife really likes it as well! High WAF is always a good thing for everyone involved.

The Hauppauge Screen Saver is halfway there, if we could get them or 'know a man that can' to remove the annoying floating text we would have a blank screen. Mind you if we knew how to do that we could substitute our own screen savers.

The image is probably a part of the MVP firmware which is downloaded from the server after each 'cold boot'. On your PC it is known as 'dongle.bin', which in fact is a dump of Linux RAM disc. If you could locate the image data in this file, you might try to replace it with your custom image.

Over on http://www.shsforum.com people are building their own MVP-firmwares, maybe someone there is able to perform this hack.
