Sub - Just curious if there is anywhere we can follow the development that is going on for NextPVR. I did see somewhere that you mentioned that the next version is based on .net 4.0.

Would you mind shedding some light on enhancements, features or a possible road map for those of us that are interested? I am posting this in the XBMC sub forum because this is what I am most interested in using NPVR with.

Thank you.

Yes, the next version has moved to .NET 4.0. There is a handful of people that have been running these .NET 4 builds for the last 6 weeks or so, and after some initial hiccups, things are generally going well now.

Unfortunately the timeline for this next release has been a moving target, with me having to a lot of travelling for work right now. On the up side, I've almost haven't seen the New Zealand winter this year, having spent 7 weeks of the last 12 weeks in the US on three separate work trips.

My original goal for the release was a fairly small set of changes, with the main change being the move to .NET 4.0. Since people have had to wait longer than expected though, I've making a few small additions so that people feel like they're getting some new toys after the wait.

Very little has changed on the XBMC front, other than some changes for genre support. I'm kind of waiting for XBMC devices to make API changes, that I'm anticipating will be made in the near future, to give XBMC better scheduling capabilities, then I'll add support for this. Pretty much all they've changed in the API recently is the ability to pass edl (comskip) info to next version of XBMC. I'll most likely get this added before the nextpvr release is made available. Other than that, we're pretty much dependent on the XBMC timeline.

Thanks for the update!

Any info as to what these toys may be?

That is a more optimistic view then opdenkamp's http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1457139 Are you planning on doing this in the XBMC baseline for them?

Based on how often it's asked for, I imagine one of the XBMC devs will make scheduling improvements at some some stage, and when they do, I'll update the NextPVR addon to support it.
