Is there any chance the Ceton Network CC tuner will be supported natively without the need for SageDCT and the Network recorder plugin?

Sorry, there is no built-in support for Ceton devices at this stage. Maybe in a future release though.
For CableCard channels, it does support the SiliconDust Prime devices, and the Hauppauge DCR devices.

I did spend some time experimenting with adding support for Ceton devices in the next release, but it's unstable, so I've disabled it.

Please consider enabling native Ceton support for the Networked ETH6. When I have problems with my Current setup of SageTV, it is usually problems with SageDCT.

As mentioned above, I have considered, but had problems with it, and being on the other side of the work and not having direct access to this type of device or these types of signals, I've shelved it for now. May revisit in a future release though.

I have a Ceton Infinitv4, which has a broken mini coax connector on it, I could send it to you for troubleshooting and diagnosis if it would help. It wouldn't be of much use for fully watching anything but may be able to be used to work on the protocols.

If not thanks for the efforts and here's to hoping

Sorry, but it's no use to me here in New Zealand. I couldn't use it for anything.

I bought one with a broken connector on Ebay and then contacted Ceton. They let me send it to them & they fixed it for me & sent it back. All I had to pay was shipping to them. Maybe it was still under warranty & because I didn't volunteer that I wasn't the original purchaser, but it wouldn't hurt to ask them.

Are you running with the ffmpeg option I agree with the tip here http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60791 that it creates the best quality recordings. If SageDCT doesn't work, it uses the same DRI interface for all devices so this sounds more like a device problem. How does it work in 7MC? Martin |
