I would like to trigger an EPG update with GB-PVR running from "outside". So e.g. once the XMLTV file is updated, GB-PVR gets a signal (trigger table in database?) and starts doing what it does during normal nightly update. I don't want to have to do a shutdown and restart with command line parameter.

I second this - maybe an option to update EPG from the main menu or a sub menu? I have my computer connected to a TV with no VGA monitor or keyboard - it's all run with the Hauppauge remote from the GB-PVR interface.

Run gbpvr.exe with the -OnlyUpdateEPG command line switch. You don't need to exit from GBPVR to do this. You can even create a custom task in gbpvr to do this right from the main menu.

Just tried it and the TBA's are still there. We get a lot of 1 off show's in the UK anb clearing the EPG is a real pain. Any way to refresh the database and get rid of these TBA's? Its starting to get to me aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

It looks like the latest GBPVR version allows you to do that from the Recording Service running in your system tray. You can update the EPG from there. At least it worked on my test system.

I am using GBPVR 93:10 and am having issuses refreshing the TV GUIDE from withing GBPVR. The data is there and a restart will show the data correctly
I have tried the -OnlyUpdateEPG, -OnlyEmptyEPG and Non -Open versions of these from both a batch file and Custom Tasks, I have also tried using the taskbar, but the only way I can get the program data to apear is to restart GBPVR.

Is this normal?
If this is normal is there anyway to restart GBPVR from Custom Tasks?

Would greatly appreciate some help

P.S. Great program

For performance reasons GB-PVR caches the guide information, so it could take an hour or so before the changes will appear in the guide. This isnt a problem for most people since they usually update their guide in the middle of night. Most people would only notice this if they were explicitly testing their EPG stuff.
