Everything is working except one channel

3.11 is working great for me but I'm having an issue with one station (11-1 KARE-HD). I can't view it and any recording is always 0 bytes. This is an OTA station and I know I get a good signal (verified by going directly to the TV with the same cable). I'm guessing this is a codec issue but I'm at a loss and feel like I've tried everything.

My system is Windows 8.1 and I had the same problem with Windows 8.

Has anyone else seen an issue similar to this and what did you do to fix it?

Please post your logs as in post #2 here :- http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...arted-Info after you have tried to record or view. A mention of the date/time will help the more expert than me zoom in on the problem.


If you are getting 0 byte recordings then it won't be a codec as they are only used during playback - recording is straight from device to disc.

I started fresh with all new logs.
Started the app. Went to the guide. Quick record on the 1 channel that doesn't work. Let it run for 5-10 minutes. It resulted in a 0 byte file.

2 more notes: about one in every 20 tries this channel might work. This is on a Hauppauge 2250 in Windows 8.1.

NDigitalHost did not get a lock on the channel, but I don't know why:

I see there's another channel named KARE-WX. Is that an SD version of the same channel or entirely different? There once was a problem involving two channels with the same name, but I think mvallevand said that was fixed for 3.1.1.

Is there any other channel on this same frequency? like 11-2? If so, are you able to record that channel?

Interesting - I hadn't tried that since it's just always weather on that station. No, it won't record off of 11-2 either. The result is a 0 byte file again. All other stations are working as expected.

Can you create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\LogTSFlow=1 (DWORD), then reproduce the problem and post the c:\temp\mon.txt?

On a 64 bit version of Windows, it's HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR\LogTSFlow=1.

The result was the same. 0 byte recording so hopefully that log will show something.

Can you set RecordFullTS=1 (DWORD) in the same registry key, restart the recording, then reproduce the problem again, by trying to record that channel for 30 seconds or so, then cancel that recording, then put the c:\temp\full.ts file somewhere I can download?
