transcoding level set by network?

So I can select ip address depending on whether I'm on wifi or 3g, but could you get ndroid to base transcoding quality on the network? When I'm on a mobile network I would prefer the lowest bandwidth, and on wifi the highest with out having to manually adjust the transcoding (twice; live and recordings).

OK, that sounds like a fair request - I'll add it to the ToDo list and look into it.
