Add Date To Title

Would it be possible to add the year to the title of the movie listings?
i.e. Animal House - 1978

After looking at the XML input file (date field), and the screenshots posted in the WIKI, it appears the date should already be there?
Is this a 3.1.1 bug?

Where are you expecting to see the year? TV Guide, Recordings, Videos?

My experience is that TVGuide and Recordings show what's in the db. The Videos, shows the actual file name which in my case contains the year (but that may be due to the fact that I use ImageGrabLite which renames the file).

I think it may be possible to update the skin xml to display the year as well, but not 100% sure how to do that (or if it is exposed on the screens you are looking at).

I use TV Listings as my guide; was hoping to see it there somewhere.

Don't think it would be in the DB at this point? Just the XML file.
I would gladly update the skin if I knew the date field was available, and what it is labeled.

Hi,

the plugin displays the title of epg events as read from the database. If you wanted to add a date there, I'd say it's best to look if one of the various xmltv utilities can do that for you.

First off, please bear with me; I'm just getting started looking into this stuff.

That said, first off I want to be sure "the database" I'm looking at is the correct one; i.e. NPVR.DB3?
I took a quick look at the "TV Listings" database, but I don't think that's the one you're talking about?

Looking at the EPG_EVENT table in NPVR.DB3 it doesn't seem complete to me. There's only a hand full of channels listed, and none of the movie channels I'm interested in.
I'm sure I don't understand how that works.

Anyhow, there is a field there; "original air date" that looks like it may be what I want.
As I said earlier, I don't mind playing around with the skin file, but I need to know if there is a tag I can use to call this field; i.e. @visibleDate3, or some such?

I use Ultraxmltv enhancer, which will, among other things, add the year to the title of movies. I like brackets, as shown. No skin modification required.

I've been playing with it the last few days and am learning the ins and outs.

One quick question about the ASTERIK after the show name; apparantly it becomes part of the file name, so my previous favorite recordings list will have to be updated to include and asterik?
