Hello,

I'm fairly sure this was a problem I read about before, but I can't find the thread despite searching. Perhaps someone can remember the solution. Smile

Audio if fine on my system on SD channels with MPEG-1 audio, and most of the HD channels. However, when I tune to BBC 1 HD I get glitches in the audio, a scratchy / choppy sound once every couple of seconds. If I had to guess I'd say maybe the audio buffer runs out for a split second but that's a wild guess. Anyway, if I pause the channel and then unpause the audio is completely fine. Even if I'm only 1 second behind realtime, audio is perfect.

Is there a setting for the playback buffer I could change?

I'm using AC3filter for AC3, Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder for MPEG-1 and everything else is disabled.

Thanks for your help. Smile

It's been a while cos my DVB-T2 tuner broke ... but ... I seem to recall that the Freeview HD channels use HE-AAC and the only decoder that I could get to work was LAV (from SAF). I suspect that you may be using Freesat.

Hello NumberFive,

I learned from imilne that DVB-S2 channels are using AC3, which is standard in the U.S. The "choppy audio" problem on BBC1 HD would probably be solved if you disabled MPEG1 Audio, but obviously you wouldn't want to leave it that way on account of SD channels. Based on U.S. experience, I suspect that the AC3 stream for BBC1 HD might be 2-channel rather than the usual 6-channel. You could investigate that using AC3Filter's tray icon. (If your version is similar to the 1.63b that I'm using, "Show tray icon" can be selected on the System tab of AC3Filter Properties.) I don't claim to understand the inner workings of sub's creation, but I have a half-baked hypothesis that NPVRTSReader has difficulty discriminating between MPEG1 and AC3 in live TV if the AC3 stream is 2-channel. Unless sub makes major changes in the way that live TV filter graphs are constructed, your best solution is probably to always timeshift BBC 1 HD and any other channel where this problem occurs. Here's a link to an earlier thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...lter-Graph

[Edit] Or does BBC1 HD have more than one AC3 stream, in which case you could try manually selecting a different audio stream using the right-click context menu. In that case the most relevant thread would be imilne's: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...udio-Track

I seem to remember that I once solved a similar problem by using AC3Filter for MPEG audio as well.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've tried a few things without success, but I'll keep trying and let you know if I find a solution. Smile
