Hi,

I use nDroid since it started. Usually works great! I updated my channel logos, but on nDroid I keep seeing the old versions. Even deleted all settings (except server settings) via Settings, but the old logos remain. Even, newly added channels have an empty logo ("ndroid" logo).

How can I force to update the channel logos?

Thanx.

Have you tried restarting the nDroid Service then clearing the settings on the app? I'd need to check my code but it's possible the channel logos may only be zipped up when the service is restarted.

Cheers,
Brian

Restarted the service, used "Clear Data" under settings to clear settings except server settings. Logos are not updated (same new channels still have "empty" logo).

I can, of course, clear all data of the app, but I hope there is a more comfortable solution (also for other users).

I can confirm the logos.zip file is recreated each time along with all the other files (epg data etc). A couple of things to note - it will try to find and use image files with extensions of .jpg, .png, .gif (in that order of preference) and also, it is case-sensitive.

Zip and attach your nDroidServerHelper.log file and let me know which channels are showing the default nDroid logo and I'll see if I can work out why.

Cheers,
Brian

Aha! My logos are in BMP (which works fine on Windows and PCH). Will convert them (batch, no problem) later this evening and let you know.

OK that will explain it. I went with those image types after checking with sub what npvr uses - at some point he must have added BMP to the list.

I've been using NPVR since at least 10 years (GBPVR), and used a mix of JPG and BMP. Recently redid the logos, and chose BMP.

The good news: converted them in a batch to PNG, cleared the data (except server settings), restarted NDroid server, restarted the app, and EUREKA!

Thanx for making this great app. Somebody tells you about something interesting to watch, you flip out your phone, enter the recording, and days later, when you forgot about the conversation, it still is recorded.

I think I excluded BMP because they tend to be much larger than PNG or JPEG (for example). Also, I'm not sure if Android handles BMP well. I'll take a look at the docs and perhaps add BMP to the list of supported logo formats.

Good to hear.

Glad you like it, thanks. Smile
