Can’t scan for channels

I’m very new to NextPVR. I installed the software on Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit without any problem. But every time I start to scan for channels the NPVR quits. And there are no lines in the log file. BTW I have a TBS 6618 tuner card.
I tried with Windows 7 Pro as well – same result.
What to do?

I have never known NextPVR to fail to produce log messages. The log file location is described ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post473613

Ok. I did another reinstall of NextPVR and after the scan NPVR quits again. Here the logs:

There is no sign of any errors in that log.

Does it always die scanning the same frequency in the scan? If so, there might be something in the data on that frequency that the application doesn't like. If that's the case, I can get you to capture some data from that frequency, so I can replay the scan here in the debugger, and hopefully find the cause and fix it.

That’s why I didn’t post the logs before. ;-)
I’m not sure, but think it would be possible. Because, if I stop the scan early, I get a working channel list. Of course I’d like to have all my channels included.
How do I capture the incoming signals to figure this out?

http://www.tscapture.com. use the eval version, capture 30 seconds full transport stream of the problem frequency, then upload it somewhere sub can get to it.

Usually I would have suggested this too, but it's possible TSCapture might have the same problem (given they're both based on the same code), so not manage to get that far. Give it a go though.

Otherwise we could look at some registry settings to force it to dump the transport stream while scanning, which will hopefully also capture the data that causes it to die soon after.

What about to import a channel list from another software, i.e. Argus TV, MediaPortal?

There isn't any function for importing channel lists from other apps. Even if you got the channel list in there via a method like that, it'd still crash when you tried to watch that channel, if there is data in that stream it doesn't like.

I once had the same problem, because the directory for the tv recordings did not exist. But I think the error came instantly, so it's not exactly the same. But you might want to check it anyway.
