NPVR stutters (audio and video) when I mouse-over NPVR on the PC.

It does not happen when I move the mouse OFF the NPVR screen.
It does not happen with NPVR on the Popcornhour (no mouse... :-) )

Not new to 329 but just got a wee bit tired of it happening.

Video Card drivers maybe?

I see from your sig that you have a HD3400 Video Card - little bit light for HD TV.

Best drivers I have found for legacy cards were to install the 13.4 beta legacy driver followed by installing the 13.9 WHQL legacy driver in custom mode and NOT install the Catalyst Control Center - Some of the Video Settings are missing from the later version! That's as good as you will get from drivers now for the 2,3 & 4000 series Video Cards.

Other Observation is you have all the Audio Codecs enabled - you should only use the ones needed for live TV and Recorded TV in the Recordings Folder - any downloaded Videos or stuff watched through Videos Menu just ask windows to do it. That will take off some of the load off the CPU etc.

Also wouldn't do any harm (I hope Big Grin) to run the Full DirectX 9 updater.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I'v used the 3400 graphic card for HD in the past, and is works fine up to 1650x1050 but stutter for 1920x1080.

Thanks to you both for that, I will check drivers and reduce audio codecs.

Does not fully explain the reason why it only occurs on mouse over though, does mousing really add that much more GPU overhead?

While I have FTA HD, the recorded video here is from a cable box and is not HD, MPEG2 I believe. My screen is set at 1650 though IIRC.

Cheers k

Replace Mouse driver make sure you remove old one first
Also make motherboard driver installed properly

Try with generic mouse driver also see what it's like

I changed to two rather than 4 codecs, for the two feeds I have.
I ran the full DX9 Update.
I'm already running a generic HID Compliant mouse driver.
Still stutters with a mouse over...

I found 13.9 WHQL (which I think I am running) but cannot locate the 13.4 beta, any link to that (that works) please?

My tablet/laptop had the same issue, but for the life of me I can't remember for sure if it was mouse driver or bios or
Motherboard drivers fixed it.
but one of them did. Smile
Good luck I hate this sort of thing it's hard to track down
