Which Tuner Was Used?

Is there any way to determine which tuner (in a multiple tuner system) was used to create a recording? I am getting an occasional "0" file recording. I understand that this is generally due to the tuner being unable to lock on the signal (I am recording OTA with a roof antenna). I would like to know which tuner (I have 3 USB tuners) was being used for the failed recordings, in order to determine if there is any pattern to the failed recordings, such as a weak or defective tuner, or if they are just random. I have looked at the NextPVR logs but did not see any info the would tell me which tuner was used for which recording. Is there any way to determine which tuner was used for which recording?

You can usually tell from the logs. If you can post the logs, and the name/time of the recording, I'll try to interpret it for you.

On 2014-04-30 19:59:08.897 the show "Nature" was recorded. I've attached the NRecord.log file. Let me know if you need the other log files. I appreciate you looking at the file, but I need to know how to do this in order to figure out if there's a pattern with one of the tuners causing problems. So if you could explain how to figure it out which tuner recorded which program, that would really help me.

Thanks!

My apologies, looking again at the logs I see where the info I was looking for is, and I see that I sent you the wrong file. I was able to find the info I was looking for but I noticed that the log file only goes back a few (2-3?) days. Is there any way to increase that?

Ok, thx.

Is there any documentation on the log files anywhere?

As part of my nightly reboot process I make a backup copy of the Logs directory along with several important files which means I get an extra day of logs available if needed.

you can add extra logging to get the detail you want. put this in npvr\scripts\parallelprocessing.bat:
Code:
echo %date%,%time% - %~n1 (%3) recording from channel %2 on tuner %4 >>"%~dp0\recording.log"
That will create a file recording.log in the scripts directory, with entries like "Wed 04/30/2014,20:00:02.20 - Revolution_20140430_20002100 (300917) recording from channel 4 on tuner 1534"
Tuner 1534 tells you to look at NDigitalHost-1534.log to see more detail. If you look at your various NDigitalHost logs you should be able to sort out which tuner corresponds to which tuner number.
