I just moved over from GBPVR and I can't find a place for EPG? In GBPVR there's a EPG directory and an UpdateEPG batch file. I copied my GBPVR EPG directory to NPVR and copied the batch file. I updated the batch file to the new location and updated the batch file pointers. I ran GETEPG and mc2xml updated, but, it the TV guide doesn't show any data.

I ran Update EPG from the channel menu in settings and if I go to TV guide, it doesn't list any programs but if I click "Watch TV" live TV is displayed.

Did I put the EPG in the wrong place? Do I need to rename it?

The EPG is in the database file NPVR.db3. The EPG is in the EPG_EVENT table which is one of 19 tables used by NextPVR. If your EPG is in a XML file then you can set that as the source to import at the overnight EPG update.

In GBPVR the EPG is conveniently in the EPG directory. The Update batch file is also conveniently named UpdateEPG and is also obvious. Are they called the same thing in NPVR? Or, is it looking for something called something different in a different location?

How do I modify a db3? How do I modify one of the tables? Where are they?

EPG in NextPVR is specified per channel in Settings --> Channel ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.Channels

The EPG batch file to run before the update ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.XMLTVEPG and http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...BatchFiles

Note that the the automatic EPG update process is run by the Recording Service and it is easy to get in a pickle with folders and permissions and all that. I suspect that was also true of GBPVR (though I can't remember). Begin the EPG batch file with a CD to switch to the folder that you want the batch to run in.

The XMLTV file can be anywhere you want (and I suspect that the same was true of GBPVR) but lots of folk (including me) use C:\EPG cos it's easy and obvious.

It could be my memory failing me, but I don't think GBPVR had any EPG directory. If you had one, it's probably just something you created.

For the most part the EPG update process is pretty damn similar between NextPVR and GBPVR. Both optionally run an UpdateEPG.bat file (just prior to processing the EPG) if you'd created one, and could run any commands you want from there. In NextPVR, it'll look for that UpdateEPG.bat file in "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts".

Click 'Update EPG' again, then post your npvr.log and we'll take a look. I assume you've got channels mapped to use the xmltv listings you're providing.

I believe I may have this worked out. Now to wait and see if the Update happens when it is supposed to.

Thanks!
