No these were definitely movies that were recorded with NextPVR.... the one I saw the other day with the movie.nfo in it was recorded on Christmas day 2016
Interesting for sure, since it does look like it is parallel processing, but i don't think it is iGL since the filename is a bad format. sub does support movie.nfo for display but I don't see how to make the file with it.
I can 100% guarantee I am not running any parallel or post processing on any of my recordings (I can't say for jksmurf though) & I never have done so since upgrading to NextPVR.... it does have pre & post padding added at recording time & a couple of days ago I cut the adds out of the .ts file which was when I saw the folder.jpg & movie.nfo in the directory.

First off hooray! that someone else has seen this. Just rechecked my batch files and none actually invoke imageGrabLite.exe any more. e.g.
PostProcessing.bat
Code:
C:\
cd C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\
echo %date%,%time% - invoking comskip on %1 >>processing.log
comskip %1
echo %date%,%time% - comskip finished with %1 >>processing.log

The thing is, these two files are created by the Metadata Option IN NextPVR - so why wouldn't NextPVR delete them?
Here are some before and after shots to show you what's happening:

Unless you use NEWA to autosearch and autorecord shows based on keywords, it's likely related to you having used the SearchLite plugin at some time which uses (or used to use) the NEWA search engine...

I didn't know that feature. Sounds like subv should delete the them then.
