A while ago, x-newa worked. Now, it doesn't but so many things have changed that I don't know why.

Windows 7 pro laptop.
Currently I am using xbmc 13.1, x-newa 2.3.0
I have NEWA, nextpvr plugin in xbmc and nDroid working correctly.
I tried disabling windows firewall, but no luck.
I have no strange ports forwarded (just 8866->8866, etc).

You didn't send web.log which is important to x-newa, but from that NRecord.log it doesn't look like the web server has started. Maybe confirm NEWA is working.

At the time of writing the post, I checked and both newa and nDroid worked. Don't know why there was no web.log, but attached it with this post.
I am now reinstalling, see what happens.

After installing 3.2.9 it's now working (didn't know it wouldn't work on earlier version).
I noticed 1 problem though: manual recordings (shown as "Default" in recordings) are not played in x-newa (are played in nextpvr, newa en ndroid).

Probably not supposed to but webclient can't be controlled from within an android client.
What are the differences between "JSON" and the other settings?
And what do the streaming modes "native", "pvr" and "direct" mean?

Thanks,
Wim

Since with X-NEWA I can also stream transcoded (vlc) over the web, it's a pity I can't stream video's (not recordings) through a menu. A workaround could be to import these into the recordings-database.

Which ports does X-NEWA use? When I change the internal ip-adress to my external ip-adress, it can't connect anymore.

Glad you got it working. Send you logs (xbmc and web) for new problems in an appropriate new thread and I will check it out.

Quote:Probably not supposed to but webclient can't be controlled from within an android client.

Sure it can with a keyboard or remote.

Quote:What are the differences between "JSON" and the other settings?

JSON is UJB's new interface to NEWA. SOAP is the original method but it is heavier and harder to program. XML uses sub's external interface API.

Quote:And what do the streaming modes "native", "pvr" and "direct" mean?

Native is normal 8866 live tv streaming
PVR directs live tv to sub's TV add on logic and options
Direct allows live tv to play using your own custom python for live tv. I use it to stream LiveTV direct from my HDHR without going through NextPVR.

I am not sure I added support VLC streaming of recordings. I am not adding music, video or photo logic, as they work better in web client and web client would use the VLC setting to play.

Same as NEWA. There is a config.xml setting to enable the API remotely.

I am now trying an android client with a (limited) (physical) remote control. When I use Yatse the "back" button behaves like the "back" button on the mvp. But I can't find a button on the tronsmart remote that does. I don't want to use Yatse every time (especially for my kids). Which is the button to use for this?
I thought of reprogramming XBMC's reaction to pressing the (android)"back", but maybe there's another button I should use?

Maybe. Turn on XBMC debugging and upload the XBMC log after you hit the keys on the remote. For Android it is usually easier to use the XBMC Log Uploader addon just send the URL in your post.

Hi Martin,

The logs are here http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=274718
Just to be clear, it happened in nextpvr web client in xbmc and yes I am aware this is a xbmc 14 version (preinstalled with the box).
I pressed the back / return button 7x.

I think it's an android issue. The "home" button (android) obviously exits xbmc (the home button in xbmc goes to main screen) and prabably the (android) back button doesn't function like I would it like too within xbmc too.

So I am already testing keymappings in xbmc.

It looks like it could be something that could be improved but I have to figure it out

02:59:24 T:1780242832 DEBUG: bool CApplication::OnKey(const CKey&): backspace (0xf008) pressed, action is previousmenu
02:59:24 T:1842493104 NOTICE: http://192.168.2.1:8866/activity?format=...b504d08caL

I think backspace is 8 alright, but NextPVR doesn't treat backspace as Back. For your case you might need to edit emulate.py with an Android text editor and change

url = keyBase + '8'

to

url = keyBase + '27'
