Potential Issue with NEWA 2.13

I downloaded and installed the most recent build of NEWA (2.13) that just came out. I did some quick tests with XNEWA, and everything seemed fine. Today I noticed that the Recent Recordings section isn't being populated. I checked the logs, and I can't quite figure out where it might be going south and whether this is a result of me running XNEWA code that's kind of forked. If I switch XNEWA to SOAP, everything is fine. I have this recollection that there was one XNEWA section that was still falling back to SOAP pending the release of the next version of NEWA, so I'm thinking that might be where my problem is. Now if I could just remember in which section that was.

Did you update to beta3 too?

The beta3 that I posted, or did I manage to create a beta3 version that conflicts with the official one? I'm running what I labeled at 2.4.1~beta3 (with a couple of additional modifications for the progress bar at initial launch). It's possible what I have isn't in sync with what you have anymore.

I may have missed your beta3, since what I uploaded was also beta3. Make sure that getRecordingsSummary_json() and sum2dict_json() match mine and if you still have a problem u/l your npvr.db3.

Good news. I never posted the version I had labeled as beta3, so I'm the only one that was confused. And upgrading to the one you posted in the Confluence skin thread fixed everything.

Okay good, if you can remember what you wanted in your b3 we can move to round 4, otherwise let me know if the changes seem right and I'll move to an rc. This should wor withe NEWA 2.12 and 2.13 so it still qualifies for an online update.

Honestly, I think my beta 3 was just adding the background dialog box to default.py so that I can tell XNEWA is starting up. I'm perfectly fine considering that a custom mod and moving on.

I did find one bug in b3 though. The permanent cache setting isn't being honored. I checked, and XNEWA_Settings.py is looking for a setting name that doesn't actually exist in the settings.xml file. So if you change line 278 of XNEWA_Settings.py to:

and line 162 of XNEWA_Connect.py to:

if self.settings.XNEWA_CACHE_PERM == True:

then the permanent cache setting is honored.

Thanks my settings.xml has the original mode, I might have left this as wip.
