I try to use NextPVR on my Rec100 ( digital devices ). I first installed a full windows 7 and NextPVR, tuners where found without any additonal setting or action.

Because windows 7 was consuming most of my system partition I installed windows ThinPC. ( ThinPC is a stripped version of windows 7, in fact it is an embedded version mostly used in virtual envoirements)

I could install NextPVR, .NET 4.0, DirectX without any problem. NextPVR does start but does not show my tuner cards. In the log I see the tuner cards are discovered, however they are not visible in the devices tab.

I have attached the log file.

Any suggestions ?

regards,

Rinse

It looks like the Microsoft BDA components are non functional on your machine. The devices are seen, but they're not returning the tuner formats they support.

Personally I'd just go with a normal Windows 7 install.

A quick search produces this as well. So it doesn't look promising.

Quote:DVBviewer installs OK, runs OK, but does not recognize the hardware
I tested it on with few USB DVB-T sticks
Each stick has correct BDA drivers installed & is recognized perfectly in DVBviewer on full Windows 7 (but not on ThinPC)

you might try adding the BDA components manually, like people have to do for server versions of Windows. hopefully what is missing from ThinPC is the same as what is missing from Server 2008R2.

Thanks for your advise.

I already found this post. The tuners are now visible however when I start the channel-scan the scan does not start.

If you can post a new set of logs, we can take another look.

It looks like something is wrong with the system tuning spaces on the machine. It can't create a tuning request.

It probably wont help, but you could see if running NextPVR with 'Run As Administrator' allows them to be recreated.

Solved !!, "Run as Administrator" did solve this last problem.

Many thanks.
