Just upgrade from 3.2.9 to 3.3.8 on both the client and the server and it has not gone very well. The client now stutters and shows blocking with no audio, as if the client is struggling to receive the signal. I made no changes other than installing (same decoders etc, etc, etc).

Under 3.2.9, the client has never worked properly (freeze after a while, 50% freeze on channel changes, 50% freeze on "Previous Channel"), but other than that, the client worked acceptably.

Here are the logs after the install of 3.3.8.

Any chance I can get the schedule direct fix without installing the entire 3.3.8 because I'm having a dog of a time getting an EPG update with 3.2.9.

I don't think anything at all has changed related to client streaming since 3.2.9. Certainly my test client here works just fine after the 3.3.8 upgrade. What decoders are you using?

There won't be any changes to 3.2.9 to support the new Schedules Direct JSON service, but I've had no problems in testing 3.2.9 against the new SD-DD compatibility service. If you want help with SD on 3.2.9, you'll have to post logs showing an EPG update so we can see what might be happening.

I can't think any changes to anything near the client/server support, and your logs don't show any obvious cause of the problem. I'll keep an eye out for any other posts about though.

I've done more testing to try and find the root problem. Forget the client, this post is all about running NPVR 3.3.8 on the server.

Server Specs:
Colossus card being fed with an HDMI cable (audio and video) from a Directv box
Windows 8 64 Pro

NPVR 3.2.9 seems to work just fine. When the score is Kansas St. 3-0, that is 3.2.9.

After this snip, I closed NPVR, stopped the service and installed 3.3.8.
After installation completed, I rebooted the machine.
Once back up, I restart NPVR.

When the score is Kansas St 6-0 that is a snip of 3.3.8. As you may be able to see, it is constant stutters and blocking. You can also see that nothing else has changed other than installing 3.3.8 on top of 3.2.9.

With restoring an image after every failure, I have now duplicated this problem 5 times without success. Something is amiss but I do now understand that the root problem has nothing to do with the client.

I don't have a Colossus just an HDPVR and in brief testing the client worked the same as I remember (I moved to XBMC as a client for wifi stability reasons long ago)

you have three lines between the two StartLiveTV@6 lines that are odd to me. Maybe the Colossus is impacted by this "added support Hauppauge Colossus2"

That's nothing new with HDPVR/Colossus style devices. It's always done that. It only does it if <HDPVRBufferLonger> is set to true, but this is unchanged.

Ian, are you saying live tv is stuttery when you try directly on the server? (ie, no client involved)

Yes, my last post was entirely on the server and the comments were entirely about running 3.3.8 on the server. There is still a client (on another machine), but that has nothing to do with the last post. Obviously, the original problem I was having on the client was caused by the problem I'm having on the server.
