In the past when I want to schedule something manually, I make use of the command line 'schedule.exe'.
When I want to make use of a specific tuner at the same time and it was already been scheduled / occupied by something else, I received always a failed error message.
But recently when this situation happens, it accepts the added new schedule with the consequence of a scheduled conflict.

When I schedule with the help of the command line 'schedule.exe' a couple of times making use of exactly the same schedule definition, I see straight into the database multiple times the same record lines in table 'scheduled_recording'. Only the field 'oid' (of course) has a unique different number for each record line.

Has something been changed in the NPVR manual scheduling system recently?

What type of tuner? DVB, Analog, HDPVR?

These tuners all now support multi-record, since 3.3.x, so in the case of Analog/HDPVR, you may find it's able to record multiple channels on the same channel/input when it wasn't able to in previous releases.

At the moment, I make use of Hauppauge 1900 for analog recordings.
For my knowledge, I thought analog recording can't make use of multiplexed combined channels.

The multi-record functionality for analog will only let you schedule recordings on the same tuner channel, or same input. ie, not different channels. The main reason for this functionality on analog is to allow the user to get pre/post padding on overlapping recordings on the same channel.

Yes, this is because analog devices can now 'multi-record' on the same channel. The primary use is to allow back-to-back recordings on the same channel WITH overlapping padding on both recordings; secondarily it allows a client to watch LiveTV on the same channel and tuner the server is using for a recording (clearly a less common use). However also this now means you can schedule duplicate recordings on the same channel at the same time, and there will be no conflict.

(in other words, what sub typed 2 minutes quicker than I did)

Thanks for the clear explanation!
That means, I can now record two separate recordings without to be afraid for the overlapping of each other.

In the past I 'solved' this by recording the two shows in one long scheduled recording and split them manually afterwards.
That's also the mean reason why I preferred manual scheduling in stead of making use of epg. In the past with epg I had many times a short of available tuners especially with overlapping recordings / shows on the same channel.
