So I tried giving System explicit permission and I still get Access denied in the log. Windows networking can be such a pain. I'll eventually figure it out Big Grin now that I know for sure it's a permissions problem. Thanks for the point to which log file. One question though, if the Files plugin can move files to a share, why would the recording service get an access denied error?.

NextPVR with Files runs with different security then NRecord (default Local System) but you can change the recording service to run as your User if you'd like.

The code clearly moves it to the root. I will try and work out how to copy one level deeper so that Hawaii-5O files go to Hawaii-5O. Eventually I plan on allowing smart moves to Series\Season but not right now.

Martin.

The attached should be a little better at moving files to the same directory. It is only tested one deep though. It needs work on moving files from a root folder to root folder.

Nope, it still isn't making the directory structure, just dumps them with either a UNC or a mapped path.

I was going back and fourth with mapped and unc drives. Did you restart nextpvr after installing? I will put in logging next time I just need to figure out when.

I do file moving are you trying to move folders? I didn't look at that logic yet.

Ok I tried moving folders and they move too but the logic is off. Maybe you you can give me a use case of what I can test.

Edit attached as a bit of logging and moves directories

It's moving and creating directories now when I select either a directory or an individual file. But they are still missing from Ready Recordings screen after the move is done.

Thanks for checking, I can see some log info which will help debug a bit. What do you mean by missing from Ready Recordings? Files doesn't add entries to the database.

bump for Chris. One thing I was thinking if your database is/was setup for a drive letter and Files is setup as UNC it won't update the database since there is no match.

It shouldn't add, it should update the location of the file. I was moving from local hard drive to a UNC path with the original version and I could still get to the videos from the Ready Recordings menu once they were moved. The UNC path was configured in NPVR as a recording directory. I'm going to check something later this evening and let you know what happens.

The source path that Files uses must be the same as the one in the database if it isn't ie you moved from a drive letter to a UNC path it won't work. That is what I suspect might be happening.
