video playback hangs in NextPVR, but plays in XBMC

I've had a problem for a few years with NextPVR and XBMC. Some recordings will "hang" when played. Screen is black, but NextPVR is responsive to the remote commands so I'm able to hit the Back button and get back to NextPVR menu. This is when I launch XBMC to play the recording. Any idea what is wrong? I will attach logs next time this happens, which is a few times a week. It seems to be tied to ABC, as NBC recordings seem to be fine.

Decoders seem most likely cause, but post the logs next time it happens.

In HDHomeRun setup, if NextPVR is selected as main application, you should try Other: ATSC/QAM instead.

Seems like a decoder issue to me. Do the recordings play back in MPC? Try running a good recording and a bad recording through MediaInfo to see what the differences are...
