Hi all,
just getting all my bits together to set up gbpvr Smile

I've got the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR2 USB2.0 and I was wanting to use this to capture TV from a Sky Digibox. My understanding is that the pvr doesn't have an ir transmitter, so I would need another bit of kit to change the channels.

I was looking at the Microsoft MCE remote which comes with an ir transmitter, and was wondering if anyone has tried to use this with gbpvr??

Thanks,
Simon

NO, you cant use the MCE Remote's IR Blaster with GB-PVR. You'd need to look at something like an USB-UIRT or Actisys IR200L.

Found this and though if this could be integrated it would probably please a lot of UK Sky Users.

I would like to know if this can be done as i'm planning to buy and use it if it can

I recommend the RedRat3. It is a bit pricey, but its the best, solid, reliable gadget I've ever bought. Receives and Sends IR. Can control any equipment. You can download digibox, and sky plus codes or learn any equipment. http://www.redrat.co.uk are out of stock, but do a search others still have them.
