For those of you who like the NextPVR Interface and like extenders not PC's the new RPi2 could be for you Here I have made a demo where Kodi autostarts web client, bypassing the Kodi UI almost completely I decided to leave sub's PVR Addon enabled for comparison to show that web client is a little peppier on startup, turning it off will mean x-newa runs that much faster.

http://youtu.be/tRkAcQqpriY

The HDPVR didn't get catch the full boot, probably because the signal dropped, about 20 seconds are missing. I use FN keys to navigate if you wonder how I get from the Recording to TV Guide. Channel 551 is HDPVR LiveTV which I had problems with on the RPi.

At the end is a little fun where Searchlite shows the trailer, and passes info to whurlston's YouTube plugin with playback via the Kodi YouTube Add On

Finally I show you either can either power off or go to Kodi if you prefer, basically at anytime

Martin, thoughts on the rPi dealing with 1080i H.264? The old one (and an apple tv3 and roku3) by comparison couldn't deal with it. Needing a minimum of an i3 or A6.

This is the same VPU as the B+ and that wasn't a problem AFAIK before. The RPi has been in continuing development and maybe you didn't try recently.

Here is pure X-NEWA (I did a refresh to show it has great speed on the RPi2) with the HDTC playing transcoded 1080i h264

Is there a script you run to do this? Do you use the autoexec.py? Maybe you can share it?

Ahh, I guess that's the question. Are you playing it transcoded? I was hoping for native 1080i playback. I have an existing 512MB rPi - when I had XBMC on it it wouldn't touch the stream via subs nextpvr pvr add on.

We don't have native h264 1080i but the HDTC can deliver it as h264 1080i which is what I showed. Here's a better upload https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGr_O-al...e=youtu.be

Maybe I should look at it again. I've just put kodi on my A8 Brix. Should look at it on my old rPi.

BTW, why was there no sound on that 2nd show you tried watching (the etalk one)?
