Any way to handle temporary / trial channels?

I'm not sure if there's an easy way around this. I have some channels that I can't pick up at all during winter via OTA, and some channels that show up as free preview every December-January (the past 4 years). I'd like to be able to keep the channel data in nPVR so that I can easily reactivate them when they come back, and so that the recordings I have on those channels keep the channel information & logo. I would keep them, but they trick my family when they see them on the tv guide. Any thoughts other than just deleting and re-adding them when they are available?
