I was wondering can anyone recommend USB DVB-S2 hardware for NextPVR? I am out of PCI / PCI-e slots! Smile

I was considering this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeVii-S662-DVB-S...DVB-S2+USB

Thanks Smile

Sometimes, someone has to go where no man has gone before. Boldly.

Why not buy one and see? You can always flog it on eBay if it doesn't...

I got one of these for an HP microserver TBS QBOX DVB-S2 http://www.amazon.co.uk/DVB-S2-Definitio...B0038LTZE0
Works fine after a few driver updates. Not sure about current availability.

A search found this previous experience.

Thanks Smile

NextPVR has changed a huge amount since I last investigated this. The last time the problem was that BDA drivers don't seem to natively support commands needed for DVB-S2, and each vendor implements these differently.

also not available, but why is still needed external adapter today?

Just plug it into your PC or laptops’ USB 2.0 port, plug in the external power supply and connect a satellite dish:confused:

I'm not sure how much amperage is needed & I'm not sure a USB port would supply enough but for satellite you also have to power the LNB through the signal cable

These TBS ones are available
http://www.buydvb.net/dvbs2s-tv-tuner-usb-c-3.html
they are basically later versions of the QBox martint123 mentioned
