No video or audio on playback after upgrade

After upgrading to 3.4.8, video playback in NPVR is black with no audio, true also for WMP. VLC, WinTV7 and my NMT fed by NPVR all play back properly. Files (.ts) recorded before the upgrade play back properly in NPVR and WMP. I've done a re-install (manually removing Public and Program Files folder leftovers) and also tried changing decoders and renderers, to no effect. Attached is the NPVR.log, where the older file played back but not the newer (S00E00). Can anybody tell me what I am missing?

I have tested further and noticed that I can view live TV from Live TV or TV Guide, but if I set a show to record and try to watch it, again I have a black screen and no sound.

Can you do a short recording, and put it somewhere I can download from? ie, dropbox, onedrive, etc.

I noticed this as well with several videos. The hard drive light will be solid as well with disk access. If I mash the skip forward on the remote it will start playing fine.

you need to reproduce problem and upload the logs so Sub/others can see what is happening at the time of the problem.

yeah, I get a fair number of recordings that playback with no audio or video until I hit skip, by which time I've missed the beginning of the show so I have to skip back.... but if I'm not careful and skip back to the very beginning it gets stuck again, lather, rinse, repeat. I've been meaning to cut the beginning of one and upload it somewhere for sub to look at, but I've been pretty busy with other things and never get around to it, and the one time I did sit down to do it I couldn't find any recordings that did it.

it's definitely new with 3.4, absolutely never had the problem before. yes sub, I know, I should have been a better tester and brought this up during pre-release testing. I mentioned it in passing once, but never followed up:

.... since upgrading to 3.4.3 I have a lot of recordings that start playback stuck on a black screen. Skipping forward gets them going. No changes to decoders or anything else in Windows, 3.4.3 is the only change (I skipped 3.4.2, until a few days ago I was running 3.3.8).

(and no, there's nothing at all interesting in the log... as far as NextPVR knows, playback is going just fine)

(I should acknowledge that I'm not sure this is the same issue as the OP's; he didn't mention whether he's tried skipping, but he reports it's on 100% of his 3.4.8 recordings whereas for me it's about 20% I'd guess.)

I haven't had a chance to upload a recording, but I can confirm that hitting 'Skip' once will cause the new recordings to play. Also, if I end playback immediately after starting and click 'Resume' the recording plays normally from that point.

I noticed the same behaviour since 3.4.8.

It happened tonite with a recording in progress.

Viewing it with client display black frame, no sound, disk on server is full red, fast skip, video and audio start without any problems thereafter.
If you let the NextPVR alone, it looks like it is reading the whole file at full speed over the network, then simply go back to the menu after about 1min,

Opening the file on the network share does the same.

ok, this is weird, I am 100% certain that I read the above post where Handy.Man posted the sample recording at least a full day ago if not more (I was relieved that someone had posted a sample, since I kept not doing it)... but now it's showing as a new post just over 3 hours old? I am 100% certain also that I have not read the forums any time in the last 6 hours at least so there's no possibility that I read the post earlier tonight and just thought it was longer ago. How does that happen? Am I going nuts?
