NVPR scann setup

I have the latest version of NextVPR (3.4.8 - 25th April 2015) and have set it up following the procedure laid out in:-

but I am having problems.

Out of a total of 159 channels broadcast by the local Granada Winter Hill transmitter, NextVPR only finds 57 of them, whereas WMC finds all of them (using same TV Tuner).

The Settings were:
Device Identification box: AverMedia 7231 DVBT Tuner PCI Card.
None is set up in the Common Interface CI/CAM box.
In the Type Specific Settings:-
Country: United Kingdom
Region: Granada – Winter Hill
The Scan Offsets box was NOT ticked.

The Device Channels only showed 57 scanned channels out of 159 as shown in the rightmost column below:

What am I doing wrong?

It may be that the ini file for Winter Hill is a bit out of date - try scanning United Kingdom - All Regions and see if you get better results...

Note that this will scan all frequencies and will take longer...

Looks like the winterhill ini file may be out of date. There has been a lot of shuffling around.

Looking at http://www.ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Winter_Hill channels are:-

Unzip the attached into your NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T folder then try scanning with Winter Hill New.

Please let us know how you get on with it.

Note: with a DVB-T tuner you won't get any channels on 737, 554 or 602 - they need a DVB-T2 tuner.

You have found the source of the problem - the ini file.
A scan now finds 108 channels rather than the original 57 channels.

Just a minor issue now....
The scan did not find the 754 or 762 MHz frequencies (LDR C56 754 C/D) (GIM C57 762 C/D).
Nor did it pick up any IPTV channels.

Is this correct?

Just a minor issue now....
The scan did not find the 754 or 762 MHz frequencies (LDR C56 754 C/D) (GIM C57 762 C/D).

Both these frequencies are being transmitted with very low power - see this link - you might find these by scanning at a different time of the day.

Nor did it pick up any IPTV channels.

IPTV is Internet Protocol TV so no... scanning won't find any of those.

To ACTCMS,

Presumably the new Winter Hiil config (.ini) file you provided will also be made available to other North-West users automatically when they install or update NextPVR 3.4.8.

Usually when I see updated files posted, I let the person know that I'll included it in the master files for the next release, but I'm away from home for work trip, so don't have access to those files right now. If someone can give me a reminder next week, I'll make sure it's included.
