Feature Request for windows media center remote

currently it has the option to start up with the green button, it would be nice to see the secondary command to jump to the main menu as well when ever the green button is pushed.

also most full size windows mce remotes have one "live TV" button & one "TV" button

the way it is now both do the same thing, I don't know if it can be done but it would be nice if you could have the "TV" or some other button toggle the aspect ratio change.

The MCE remote can be configured with registry edits. See this post:

There is also a gui tool to do the changes, I'll edit this when I find it.

This works at least through Win7 using the "genuine" MCE remote and the ehome driver. You can confirm that you're using this in Device Manager.

I have done this for several remote keys, including F7.

Also, look at the Startup Default Activity setting on the Misc tab of Settings. See if setting that to Main Menu would meet your needs.

If you are willing to drop ~$20 US, purchase a FLIRC (flirc.tv). With it you can program any button including the Green button to do whatever you want. It works with any RC6 remote, MCE or not - it even works with my Verizon FiOS remote and TV remote - now I have a single remote that controls both TV and nextpvr. It launches any combo of keystrokes or keystroke macros.
