Kodi 14.2 + NextPVR + Winodws 10 = No Recordings

Hello! I am a new NextPVR user. Just moved from Windows 7 and Media Center to Windows 10 and NextPVR. So far, everything is working except recording shows. The guide (Schedules Direct) and live streaming between computers/tablets works great using the NextPVR add on. If I choose to record a show from the guide, it gives me the normal options. I set the criteria and hit OK to schedule the recording. That's where it stops working. The show that I just set to record does not show up in timer nor does it ever record. If I open NextPVR directly, the show is in "Recurring Recordings" but never records to the specified drive location. Did I go wrong somewhere? This is a new build with a fresh install of Windows 10 on a shared MySQL database with multiple PC's and android devices. I've been a long time user of XBMC and Media Center, and it usually worked pretty well other than the occasional guide corruption so any timer issues are new to me. I apologize up front if this is posted somewhere else in the forum, as I didn't see this particular issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using the default Confluence skin, or something else? You need to be using the Confluence to get the recording popup, or manually fix up your skin to include the recording popup.

Sorry, I guess I didn't explain thoroughly enough. When I mentioned "If I choose to record a show from the guide, it gives me the normal options. I set the criteria and hit OK to schedule the recording.", I was referring to the popup. That comes up fine and seems to work because it adds the recording to NextPVR. However, NextPVR never records the show and Kodi does not show the scheduled recording under timer. I am using the Rapier skin, but the default Confluence skin has the same behavior.

I just noticed something... When I was using Media Center with XBMC, it would show ® for shows that are repeats. There are no shows in the guide that have an ® on them. Maybe there's some other way NextPVR knows that shows are repeats, but figured I would mention it.

Another update... I tried manually recording, and that works! If I use the Guide in Kodi, and choose record but choose only once and not the whole season it instantly starts recording. I can see it under Recordings in Kodi and watch it while it's recording. So, thats great! It seams this problem has something to do with Recurring Recordings. They don't show in Kodi, and they don't record in NextPVR. I will do some other testing tonight with other recurring shows, and post the results here.

There is a bit of a nuance to the NextPVR recurring option, it only records future recordings. Also the PVR plugin doesn't refresh recording in 14 and you will need the upcoming version of NextPVR 3.5 to get refreshed lists in Isengard.

Your tried and true option for now, is to find your shows in NVPR itself and select the shows and recording options. I haven't had much luck myself with through kodi NVPR recording, aside from manual records. It's really not a big deal if you are doing recurring recordings, and you get all the options.

For searching and finding shows via the NPVR UI, I recommend using the SearchLite plugin.

Hello, thanks for all the input. I did find something interesting last night. I tried doing a few other recurring shows, and it seemed to work fine and show up under timer. The one show that doesn't work is CSI: Cyber which happens to be the show I was testing with. Maybe because of the ":"? Also, another thing I notice sometimes when working with timer like deleting scheduled recordings, it seems to freeze the UI like it's waiting for something. Not completely though, can't use the back button but if you hit home in Yatse it will take you out of the Live TV area and going back in is not a problem. Maybe something with the skin?

Oh, I did have one more question. Does NextPVR support pausing live TV? The pause button doesn't seem to do anything unless I choose to record a show first. If I just switch to a channel, pause doesn't work.

Ok, I think everything is working now. Even CSI: Cyber after I did a reboot. I think something was screwy between Kodi and NextPVR service. I've done multiple tests now and I think most of my questions are answered except one. How do I get NextPVR and Kodi to show the first air date on shows? Or at least something that shows if it is a repeat or not.
