1 channel not found or unknown in scan

Hi,

I have a re-installation in Brisbane Australia due to a OS crash:
Vista
NPVR 3.5.7
Leadtek DTV1000s

When I scan for channels I get everything except for the channels at 219500 if I set the country and region to Australia Brisbane. (also with "scan Offsets checked). It simply finds nothing.

If I scan all regions it will find something at 219500, (Actually 219375) but it is unknown and will not play.

I have had this problem previously, but cannot recall for the life of me how I got around it. The channles at 219500 until before the OS crash were perfect so I know they are there!

Any ideas?

Unfortunately your device doesn't seem to report any signal status (locked/quality/strength) info, so it's not really possible to tell if it has managed to lock onto a signal or not. There is no sign of errors in your logs, so I'm going to have to assume it never locked onto a signal at that frequency and delivered data to the application.

That seems to the first frequency scanned. It possible your driver does something quirky with the first frequency, so maybe try an 'Australia / All Regions' scan to see if you have any more luck.

If i scan "all Regions" it finds channels at about the correct frequency but the appear to be unknown!
Could it be a decoding issue?

if you just let it add those unknown channels, can you watch any of them?

It thinks about it for a long time, but no dice! Eventually a black screen.... still nothing..... Then a message that "The tuner you were using was required for a recording." (I'm not recording anything..... not intentionally anyway!)

That could be a sign of poor reception on that frequency. As johnsonx42 asked, can you watch those channels?

Its sounded lot like very poor reception of channels on that frequency. Do you any other tv software installed that proves that wrong? ie, can you watch smooth live tv on your current setup with any other software.

I don't have any other software installed ATM. Currently downloading the native software to check.

FYI: Before the rebuild I was using NextPVR and Kodi without issue.

If it worked fine before the system was rebuild, then perhaps a 1 minute full transport stream capture of that mux uploaded somewhere like wetransfer.com would help?

OK,

I installed Winfast which only found channels on 3 frequencies. (There should be 6),

I also installed tscapture;
Encouragingly tscapture found and identified correctly the channels on 219500.
Disappointingly recording on any, (or all) of these channels results in a file of 0 bytes! (So nothing to upload!)

This could well be a reception issue then...???
