Hi,

Imagegrab lite was working fine for me, but I had not been using NPVR with very many TV channels back then, and was using XBMC.

Now I have Kodi, and more channels....imagegrablite is renaming the files to series.SXEX.title format OK...but for the life of me, I cannot get Kodi to scrape these files and populate the kodi database with the show information. Maybe it doesn't like the file format. Now when I dont rename with the utility and use the --nfo option, imagegrab lite seems to do the right thing and create the .nfo file. But again, Kodi scraper (using TVdb and tried others) doesnt pick it up...so metadata doesnt show up on screen when I select the file.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this one?

BTW....Kodi has no trouble scraping files obtained from places other than NPVR to properly extract metadata.....and pull down art.

Jim

PS. Here is an example test file created by IGL from a old show I recorded.....is this malformed?

I am reasonably certain that iGL does rename the files to Kodi for. If you have the show named The Waltons.S02E02.... it should work. Even sub's episode naming works for this one.

Did you make sure the content for your folder is TV Shows ans use thetvdb for a scrapper. If so sounds like a Kodi problem.

One other point and question...whenever I rename the file name in the format starting with SxEx ---- instead of the series name at the beginning, the scraper picks it up.. So a quick question for a workaround....is there anyway iGL can rename with Season and Episode at the start of the filename?

So it appears that Kodi somehow gives up on a directory that has some .nfo files in it....even if other files exist with different base naming in a different episode. Removing the source entirely, cleaning the database didnt fix it. But finally found that manually going into show information , and refreshing --- causes Kodi to say something like, "local information is available, do you want to download from Internet anyways") --- answering Yes...fixes the iissue. No amount of rescanning or changing the content type back/forth would work. So now I know the problem...and can go back to iGL creating naming for the shows that are not named by npvr itself. I have just deleted all .nfo files hanging around messing things up for the scraper.

At one time iGL deleted the nfo files if it was on thetvdb I may have broken that. do you use both --rename and --nfo on the command line?

yes.i used both those options together.... I had just taken off the --nfo to avoid any possibility of that lingering in the future.
