Right I see what you are getting at, I thnk you overwrote my post saying this is the issue I had when I used to use NextPVR as the source for my HDHR.

grmilbrand Wrote:Thanks for checking that out.You were only able to view one of the channels though. ie, if you go to the Playback->Program menu in VLC, you'll see two programs listed, but only one of them play. Correct? With a full transport stream recording, it's capturing everything the HDHR is sending. In that particular frequency there is two channels, and they should both be included in that full ts. One has no audio/video data though. You might need to check the HDHR Config utility, to look for differences when you try viewing the channel in HDHR View vs NextPVR. Screenshots of both would be good.

ok, still at it.
Here is another channel which is having a similar problem.(this doesn't have 2 channel on the same frequency in VLC. and I can't view the either .ts for this one, the full .ts or the record from NPVR) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pkf009zux8ckz...gLSSa?dl=0 I did some screenshots with config running while viewing in the different apps. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2qrlnv309fweh...TafTa?dl=0 Interesting to me is the difference in protocols used. http vs rtp and port numbers?! also interesting is when I select channel 8.2 on HDHRV the config shows up as on channels 8.2. in NPVR it shows as connected to channel 8.1. in the first 2 screenshots. the third screencap is when I selected 8.2 in the HDHR config dropdown with no change.

In HDHR setup what do you have the BDA compatibility set to? If it is NextPVR try Other or Default if it is not try NextPVR

I did that too. No change. I remember that was an issue you were dealing with.
I really think it has something to do with the channels that have 2 or 3 'sub-channels' on the same frequency. it happens most often on certain channels but never happens on the first or main channel.(the *.1 channel) So I have: 8.1 & 8.2 (always happens on 8.2) 15.1 & 15.2 sometimes happens on .2 43.1 & 43.2 & 43.3 and happens sometimes on .2 or .3... Almost like NPVR can't resolve which sub-channel it's supposed to connect to.

I added another screencap. Whenever I view the .2/.3 channels in HDHR View with the config utility open, it drops down to the sub-channel it's supposed to. NPVR doesn't do that.
I just don't understand why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I just tested and when it first opened up I was able to browse around all the channels and the programs came up but as soon as it hit one that had a snag, it stopped working on all the other problem channels. I'm a programmer too so I've been testing patterns trying to come up with one and just can't figure a pattern out. If anyone wants to remote into my machine and play I'm open to that, too. Thanks for all the help so far. I can't give up!

Thanks again!
For all interested the solution in my case was to set the BDA Compat mode to: MediaPortal It doesn't do PID filtering. @sub can ellaborate if he wishes. |
