EPG only showing current broadcasts

I have a Silicon Dust HDHR3-US with firmware v.20150406, and software v.20150826 and I am running NextPVR v.3.5.7 on Windows 7.
The HDHR setup app finds all my stations just fine, and in the settings of NextPVR, I have all the channels set to DVB/ATSC EPG. After I hit the Update EPG button, it takes around 5 min to go through all the channels, but when it is finished and I go to the TV guide only the playing program info for each channel is in the guide. For all programs more than 15 min in the future the grid says "no show detail". This is strange because my 7 year old Visio TV has almost a week's worth of program guide for almost every station I get, and it has no internet connection, just an antenna. I realize I could subscribe to Schedules Direct or use XML, but I was hoping that maybe by changing a setting or something I could get this to work within NextPVR and then Kodi.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it does seem odd that you get only the current program; generally most people with an antenna seem to get about 12 hours of EPG data (which is still generally worthless though, which is why most people still go with Schedules Direct or some XMLTV solution). I'm stunned though that your TV gets a week of EPG data, that's far beyond what I've ever heard reported before.

I know it will make testing take much longer, but try increasing <EPGScanSeconds> in config.xml... maybe if it reads data for 2 or 3 minutes on each channel it will get more data. if it does yield more data, the increased scan time won't matter much for the automatic EPG update done in the wee hours of the morning.

Is the Vizio data coming from some proprietary broadcast EPG service? The Internet seems to think that there used to be someone called Macrovision. Are there advertisements in the EPG?

Increasing the ScanSeconds is sound advice ... NextPVR listens to each frequency for that quantity of seconds so the total EPG scan time is ScanSeconds multiplied by the number of frequencies (aka muxes) that are being received.

Sorry, but I misstated that information. It is not actually a week. One station is giving me 4+ days, and many of the rest are giving me multiple days. And on my Visio TV the data is retrieved almost instantaneously. That is when I arrow past what is listed, I can see the program guide fetching the data, and it delivers it in a second.
I will try your suggestion, to lengthen the scan time.

No, I am pretty sure it is being broadcast by the stations. I was wrong about how much though, most stations are giving a couple of days. It is just in stark contrast to NextPVR.

I tried increasing the EPG scan time to 180 sec., and it didn't give me any info than I was getting before (which is essentially now playing info).

If you can record a 1 minute full ttransport stream using TSCapture (which eval version from http://www.tscapture.com will do), and put it somewhere I can download from (like dropbox, one drive or google drive), I can check it out for you.

I don't use NextPVR as my HDHR source, I have never upgraded the BDA driver from the one that uses Other but I think someone recently recommended Mediaportal source.

I tried to record a full transport stream wiht TSCapture, but I couldn't get the channel scan to find any channels. The HDHomeRun Setup finds all my channels just fine and so does NextPVR. Could I send you a ts file recorded by NextPVR from just one channel?

You'll probably need to either disable your firewall, or add a firewall exclusion for TSCapture.exe. It'll be blocking data from the HDHR.

No, because it'll only record a partial TS, and is lacking some of the things needed for the EPG.
