Sub,

Quote:- adds support for new Schedules Direct service, which will auto extend sports recordings if the event is not yet finish. This is off by default, but can be enable din the Settings->Recording screen. It'll probably be enabled by default in future releases.

This is a wonderful feature for sports lovers. Thanks.

I don't know if this can be done, but how about watching for a sports event that is running long and correcting the start and stop times for scheduled recordings that come after it? I can't tell you how many times I have lost the end of a program because football has run long right before it... Would you guess I'm not a sports fan? Rolleyes I'm in the habit now of looking for games and scheduling a 2 hour recording for a 1 hour show when I see one.

Damn users always wanting more... Big Grin Seriously, thanks for all your hard work.

I don't think Schedules Direct offers data to do that yet; they can only offer what their upstream data provider gives them. It wouldn't surprise me if such data were forthcoming however.

That said, I believe mvallevand's NextEnd utility already can do this: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ty.NextEnd
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

I've read what little I can find in the way of documentation and I'm still unclear about one thing. Does anyone know if NextEnd will extend a recording that follows a sports event even if the sports event was not scheduled to record?

I'm not sure. NextEnd is unrelated to the built in feature.

Yes, it does.

Looks like a really old thread, so being new to NextPVR and just now getting things set up and learning, I guess I'll just try it this afternoon and see how it goes.

This is an old thread. But, NextEnd is the utility that you want. Several of us use it to auto-extend shows on Sunday nights (and now late night shows) when prior sports games run long.

Unfortunately, the posted version tries to use a data source which no longer exists, so it's working. The good news is that Martin has updated it to use a new data source he setup as well as working with Schedules Direct to use their data source. This new version is currently in beta testing and should be released very soon.

Took me a while to figure out how to decompress a .t7z file, but I managed. Now I have to ask, how and where do I create a .bat file to get NextEnd to work? Not everyone looking for a Media Center replacement is a gear head. A User's Manual sure would be nice. The NextEnd Wiki mentions a lot of options. Do they need to be included in the .bat file? If so, how?

Didn't work for the football game I wanted to watch yesterday. Glad I also set NextPVR to record the following two programs. And NextEnd is going to use Schedules Direct data???
