Has anyone researched how best to keep the time-of-day clock used by a cable TV settop box in sync with a PC's time-of-day clock? Is there a common "timebase trigger" that can be used to keep them together?

As of now, I check each week and after a reboot to make sure the two clocks show the same time-of-day, to the second. If left unattended, the clocks will drift apart to the point of missing showtime.

Thanks to the wizards who know stuff like this.

Do you know which box is drifting out? My guess is Windows.

Many years ago I found that the MS time server was drifting up and down 1-2 minutes. So I use a a free utility called Dimension 4 that locks my PC to a time standard at the US Naval Observatory. Set it up as a service and let it resync as often as needed. Download it here: http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/download.htm
