I changed my setup last weekend, deactivating two of my four HDHomerun tuners. After this the EPG wasn't updated at night. It looks like npvr is still trying to use the deactived tuner, giving the following error:

Code:

I've solved it with a fresh install, but maybe it can be solved in a new release to prevent it from happening with other users. I couldn't find how npvr selects the tuner to use for the epg update.

One question though: my provider broadcasts all epg data for all channels on one channel. Is there way to only select this channel for the epg update? Because that would make it really quick.

Unfortunately there is no way for the app to know that, so it has to go through the motions on each frequency. I might be able to some config file setting in future, so that you can tell NextPVR that this is the case.

It does have some special case logic for this with the Freesat EPG, but no generic way to handle it with other systems.

That would be great!

I use DVBGuide.exe to grab the epg from that one frequency to an xmltv file and update all channels from that file (yes we have the same scheme here). DVBGuide runs first in UpdateEpg.bat and is much quicker than scanning all frequencies, make sure you use the .95 version of DVBGuide Smile

EPG Collector can also collect the data from a single frequency and create an xmltv file.

Thanks guys, I´ll look into these programs. But I would also like to see this functionality in nextpvr Smile
