Hi

Any Brits here missing programme listings for BBC2 / BBC2 HD? I'm using Alan Birtles' XMLTV grabber.

They've gone walkabout here, even though nothing in my configuration has changed with respect to grabbing on the PVR for literally years.

I gave up with the RT listings some years ago and moved to xmltv and the atlas source.

But I just fired up my old birtles xmltvgui with a few channels and got listings of BBC2 - I couldn't find BBC2 HD in the xmltv settings and ISTR I always used the bbc2 listings for bbc2 hd

I dont have Alans' app installed to test, sorry as I stopped using XMLTV a year ago and moved to Schedules Direct. It's just better.
I know the shut down BBC3 last week (moved to Iplayer) so I wonder if something has changed that might have broken things.

Thanks - I didn't realise Schedules Direct offered a UK service - thought it was US only. Anyway, it seems that, overnight, BBC2 has returned so all is well. Good to know there's a backup alternative - even if it isn't free...

I use the same grabber and also noticed some issues last night with some channels completely missing and others with the odd programme missing (e.g. BBC1 HD). The EPG refresh ran overnight and all now seems well.

For the pretty nominal fee that SD charge, (for me personally) it was worth moving to SD, specifically to get the correct tagging of movies and to get all the correct series and episode info for far more shows than I ever got with XMLTV.

Plus NPVR can download the show images directly without needing to use imagegrablite. It's all "totally integrated".

I think there's is a free 90 days trial.

Fair enough. I let my Plex server do that work so don't really need SD as well.

I read all these posts and got slightly confused. I'm using a Freeserve USB dongle, and had no BBC channels. But I fixed it by Settings / Devices and right clicking the device, picking Setup Device and selecting All Regions. I also ticked Offset. I now have all BBC Channels. Hope this is useful for someone.

Chris

welcome to the forum.

You can obtain your EPG over the air with a Freeview tuner but the quality of the data was (when I last used it a few years ago) rather iffy with very brief show descriptions and unreliable genres and season/episode and uniqueprogrammeID data. I think the deal breaker may also have been that the EPG data was encrypted on the HD channels.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeview_(...protection

On 14 June 2010, Ofcom agreed to allow the BBC to limit the full availability of its own and other broadcasters' high definition (HD) Freeview services to receivers that control how HD content can be used.[58] Ofcom concluded that the decision to accept the BBC's request will deliver net benefits to licence-holders by ensuring they have access to the widest possible range of HD television content on DTT.

Hence when I and others used to obtain our EPG from the internet in XML format and then import this into NPVR. Then Schedules Direct made their data available for UK users for a nominal annual free and this integrates very nicely with NPVR.

Is your transmitter Sutton Coldfield?

If so try unzipping the attached into your Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T (replacing the existing file) and try scanning Sutton Coldfield again.

If it doesn't work, zip and attach your logs after doing the scan.
