Hi All,

I've installed NextPVR so that I can record some kids cartoon's for my son from CBeebies in the UK. For some reason though, NextPVR isn't picking up the HD broadcast of this channel (it finds SD ok), and I hoped someone may be able to help please? It should appear on Ch 124 - my HD TV detects this ok so I know it's possible to receive it in my area.

As seen in this screenshot, all the other HD channels have been discovered ok:

I've also attached my logs in case it helps.

Thanks!

Digging into this a bit more, it seems I have a similar issue as seen on this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...uk+hd+scan where it was suggested a weak signal was the culprit. However I'm fairly sure that I don't have a weak signal, so to test this I managed to installed Windows Media Center on my Windows 10 machine (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...ternatives), and was pleased to see that it scanned and detected CBeebies HD, as seen in the screenshots below.

Interestingly, WMC detects 165 channels, whereas NPVR only found 120. Any thoughts on why it's not detecting all channels please as this seems to be the issue?

Can you do a scan, then post your npvr.log? Your previous logs didn't show a scan, and was missing the npvr.log file - it just had the older versions of this.

Do you know what frequency this channel is supposed to be on? When you supply your log showing the scan, I'll check what happens on that freqeuncy.

Hey Sub, I appreciate your help!

I was just about to post a reply back to say that my transmitter ini file appears to be missing freq 562, as this screenshot indicates it's where my missing channel can be found:

C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T\United Kingdom - Central - Ridge Hill.ini

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=United Kingdom
2=Central - Ridge Hill

[DVB]
0=6
1=1,474000,0,0,8
2=2,482000,0,0,8
3=3,498000,0,0,8
4=4,506000,0,0,8
5=5,522000,0,0,8
6=6,530000,0,0,8

https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Ridge_Hill
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

I tried to manually add the missing frequency to the ini file as follows, but even after restarting both NPVR service and program, it wouldn't scan 562.

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=United Kingdom
2=Central - Ridge Hill

[DVB]
0=6
1=1,474000,0,0,8
2=2,482000,0,0,8
3=3,498000,0,0,8
4=4,506000,0,0,8
5=5,522000,0,0,8
6=6,530000,0,0,8
7=7,562000,0,0,8

I've attached npvr.log as requested.

Thank for your help!

You needed to also update it to say "0=7". This is telling it the number of frequencies that follow.

Looks like there's a couple more frequencies to add to the Ridge Hill ini file for the next update please: 578 and 538.

Thanks Sub, I can confirm the following is correct:

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=United Kingdom
2=Central - Ridge Hill

[DVB]
0=9
1=1,474000,0,0,8
2=2,482000,0,0,8
3=3,498000,0,0,8
4=4,506000,0,0,8
5=5,522000,0,0,8
6=6,530000,0,0,8
7=7,562000,0,0,8
8=8,578000,0,0,8
9=9,538000,0,0,8

And seeing as this thread had a similar issue (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...uk+hd+scan), I've added the extra frequencies to his transmitter file.

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=United Kingdom
2=Meridian - Hannington

[DVB]
0=8
1=1,618000,0,0,8
2=2,634000,0,0,8
3=3,642000,0,0,8
4=4,658000,0,0,8
5=5,666000,0,0,8
6=6,682000,0,0,8
7=7,562000,0,0,8
8=8,578000,0,0,8

It looks like this 562 frequency was added after the UK's digital switchover, so I suspect there's a few more transmitters with this missing frequency.

Clicking the green "C32 (562.0MHz)" icon from here (https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Hannington) takes you to a page showing 10 transmitters that use this, and a quick check shows that each of the related ini files below are missing the 562 frequency. https://ukfree.tv/maps/uhfchannel/32

Durris
Black Hill
Caldbeck
Emley Moor
Moel-Y-Parc
Fenton
Sandy Heath
Ridge Hill (mine)
Hannington (above)
Bluebell Hill

How did you build the initial list of transmitter frequencies for the UK? It may be worth revisiting that process because I see most of the files are dated around 2011/2012, and since then the UK has gone through a digital switchover which released extra frequencies such as 562, so I suspect more may be affected.

Thanks.

They were donated by a UK user, for the good of their fellow country men.
