There are five OTA channels in my area. When I click on one to watch, it just sits at a black screen. How do I fix this? I'm using Schedules Direct as my TV guide, and I have a Hauppauge Colossus 2.

You'd probably need to post the logs.

Colossus 2 can't receive OTA channels, since it doesn't have a tuner. Are you connected to a set top box?

No. That would be why. Wink What current Hauppauge products have a tuner? Could my old HVR1600 give me these OTA HD channels? It has a tuner. Thanks.

What do you have connected to your Colossus2? Nothing? You've got to have something connected to whatever capture device you end up using.

You don't get devices with HDMI + Tuner. They're different sorts of products. You'd need two different devices to get both of these.

You can use an ATSC tuner for receiving OTA, like Hauppauge HVR-950Q stick, or HVR-2255 or WinTV-quadHD for PCI cards. These would be connected to an antenna.

You can use a Colossus 2 for HDMI capture from an HDMI source, like a set top box.

Jim

My HVR 1600 is fine for OTA and it works better than my Silicon Dust HDHRs Most reviews say newer Hauppauge tuners are even better.
