LiveTV: Audio, but no video on a few channels

Hi,

I have discovered that on a few channels, while trying to watch liveTV, I am getting audio but no video. If I record the show and play the recording back with npvr I get both video and audio. Both liveTV and recorded streams from that channel play fine with VLC. I have tried various decoders, but no difference. Any ideas?

Can you post your logs after attempting to view one of these channels?

Logs of such a channel using npvr in server stand-alone attached. Note, also an issue with client-server operation.

Your sample is incorrectly flagged as encrypted and the logs show

2016-04-20 18:27:38.780 [DEBUG][1] EC_STILL_GOT_VIDEO (3)

that too. Does turning off the Alternate OSD help?

Alternate OSD was already off, turning it on didn't help either.

It looks like the example channel you've supplied in the logs and sample file has changed from MPEG2 to H.264 since the time you scanned.

There was a thread in recent weeks about dealing with this on an HDHR Prime. (requires a database update for now)

Thanks sub. I didn't realize that FiOS started using h.264.

Reading the thread you referenced (from 2016-01-02, I believe) the options are download the patch and edit the channels or wait for 3.7.x, correct?

Any estimates on the ETA of 3.7.x?

I downloaded the patch sub provided on other thread and installed it on my test server. Edited the channel to h.264 - and - sure enough, video worked fine.

I didn't look in the sample.ts, but I can see the streams list in npvr.log shows it as having a H.264 video stream.
