Hi All,

I know that this "wish" is raising an old subject, but....
I have a number of devices feeding my Sony KDL-55HX750 via HDMI. Audio is then fed to a Sony STR-DH700 Receiver Amp. via an Optical (Toslink) Cable.

Output volume for a given setting on the Amp (say 30) varies per device.
From highest to lowest output .....
1. Sony KDL-55HX750
2. Foxtel IQ2
3. WD TV Live HD Media Player
4. NextPVR

To use NextPVR to Watch TV or Recordings I have to bump the Amp up to about 45 to get a similar level as the Sony KDL-55HX750 at 30.
Forget to return the Amp to 30 before switching to another input and wife comes looking for my head Big Grin

If an onscreen control can't be added how about the ability to make changes in the config.xml like ....
<Volume>3dB</Volume> ..... <Volume>6dB</Volume> etc

The current recording level is good, I just wish I could bump the playback volume a few dB's Big Grin
Regards,
Mark

Out of the box, my remote changes volume when I am using NextPVR. The volume that is changed is the overall Windows volume but I don't care because I rarely use the machine for anything other than NextPVR.

There is this to see what's occurring ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?....VolumeOSD

The output it isn't NextPVR it is your sound card and Windows. I'd start by checking if the Loudness Equalization enhancement on your Speaker Properties helped.

Hi Graham,
Tried that .... like you said, it only lets you know the Windows Volume setting.

Hi Martin,
Been There, Done that too.

I have tried watching my recordings via Windows Media Player (@100%), Windows 10 "Films & TV" (@100%), VLC (@100%) and Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (@100%), They all have a higher output level than NextPVR.

This testing leads me to the conclusion that the output level in NextPVR is set somewhat lower than normal (is there such a thing as "normal")

Mark

What audio decoder are you using then?
Its either the decoder or advanced volume control and look for the one that says npvr

Thanks for the tips. I just checked them and they appear to be ok.

I have attached piccies. Note: all audio enhancements are turned off.

Do you have a centre channel speaker my other thought was maybe the surround sound decoder(audio decoder) is sending the sound to the wrong speakers or you amp is not playing nice with the signal its receiving

anyone know whether the old VolumeOSD plugin still works? http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?....VolumeOSD

NPVR 3.x broke some of the old plugins, it might need to be recompiled for .net 4.0?

Try setting the following in the <Playback> section of config.xml:

<VolumeControl>internal</internal>
<VolumeLevel>100</VolumeLevel>

You may need to add those settings if you don't have them already.
